Welcome

Darryl Lenox is judge, jury, and executioner when he takes the stage, and he presides over the courtroom of comedy with authority. The result: insightful, incisive, and always authentic comic justice that punishes the absurdity of the everyday with a life sentence of laughter without parole.

Ironically Lenox entered the world of stand-up on a dare, but he has never looked back. After a friend challenged him to stop talking and start living, he entered an open mic competition in Seattle and the rest is history. Admittedly, his first set wasn’t exactly flawless, but it did plant a seed that would grow into lifelong obsession. Lenox embraced his gift, fought hard and people began to talk. Seizing every opportunity, Darryl won more and more stage time throughout the Northwest and revealed the beginnings of a world-class stand-up career. Before long he had earned a well deserved place in the world of professional stand-up comedy by capitalizing on his keen sense of observation and uncanny knack for energizing an audience. Darryl now tours the globe and entertains at world-renowned comedy festivals like HBO’s Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen and Montreal’s Just For Laughs.

Even though life has not always been easy for Lenox, having been afflicted with deteriorating eyesight since his youth, he quickly shrugs off any notion of self-pity with disarming insight. He quips, “I can’t see two feet in front of me, but I can see tomorrow.” Successful eye surgery in Vancouver has restored some of his vision, but more importantly it served to sharpen his humanitarian focus. By partnering with Third World Eye Care Society (TWECS), Darryl is helping to offer treatment solutions to the visually impaired in third-world countries around the world. The mission of TWECS is close to Darryl’s heart: desperately needed eye exams and donated eyeglasses for those in need. Darryl believes that poverty should never stand between the less fortunate and a better quality of life through better vision.

Lenox has built up an impressive list of accomplishments including appearances on A&E’s Evening at the Improv, Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, Jamie Foxx’s Laffa Pallooza, BET’s Comic View, and Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival. He has garnered awards including 1st Place in Seattle’s Comedy Competition, and the Vancouver Fringe Festival’s Best New Play Award.

If laughter and aching sides are any indication, tomorrow looks incredibly bright for this ambitious comic. Audiences everywhere agree: Darryl Lenox is here to stay and we hope his comic courtroom will be in session for a long time to come.
